ESRI Canada and I.S.M. International Systemap Corp. (I.S.M.) Announce Distribution Agreement for PurVIEW

ESRI Canada today announced a distribution agreement with I.S.M. to resell PurVIEW, a 3D Geodatabase Mapping Extension for ArcGIS 9.x. PurVIEW provides ESRI GIS users with a solution to quickly transform ArcGIS Desktop into a precise stereo viewing and accurate 3D feature digitizing environment.

"We are pleased to announce a distribution agreement with I.S.M.," said Alex Miller, President, ESRI Canada. "This agreement with allow ESRI Canada to provide our customers with a remarkable extension for ArcGIS that will give them the ability to quickly view and edit digital imagery data in stereo."

PurVIEW is a photogrammetric solution that is inherently useful in any thematic application including environmental assessment, geology, and urban engineering. With digitized features stereo-superimposed on the original mapping image model, geodatabse quality assurance is immediate and unambiguous. Within the ArcMap window, geodatabase contents can be directly accessed and reviewed superimposed on standard georeferenced three dimensional image models, revealing errors and omissions, or natural changes.

"I.S.M. is very pleased to be strengthening our relationship with ESRI Canada," said Patrick Wong, Director I.S.M., "We see enormous synergies between I.S.M. and ESRI Canada. This agreement allows us to leverage the superior service and delivery of GIS solutions offered by ESRI Canada, giving us the opportunity to reach a greater number of customers and expand our leadership position in the photogrammetric mapping industry."

Stereoscopic Imagery for your desktop: the hidden dimension finally revealed

Valtus and I.S.M. Partner to Web Deliver Stereo-Imagery directly into GIS Applications

Valtus Imagery Services (Calgary AB and Boulder CO) and I.S.M. International Systemap Corp. (Vancouver BC) announced the formation of a strategic partnership in web-based stereo-image delivery, either as downloadable data products or used on-line in GIS desktop applications.

GIS is fast becoming the final destination of ortho-rectified imagery, and web delivery the method of choice. Easy interoperability encourages end-users, from civic governments to earth resource scientists.

Valtus' open GIS protocols already support instant viewing of high-resolution ortho-rectified imagery via a wide range of industry standard web-mapping products and desktop applications. Through this new partnership, Valtus now expands its product offerings to geo-referenced stereo-imagery, viewable via I.S.M.'s PurVIEW plug-in, first available for ArcGIS.

“Stereo-image delivery is a broad new market that would dramatically improve returns in imaging investments, encourage more extensive coverage, and benefit a wider base of end-users,” explains Kenyon Waugh, chief strategy officer at Valtus. “This partnership provides both the tools and rich data contents for rapid and informed decisions.”

“PurVIEW is the result of a decade-long quest in reducing esoteric photogrammetry to an icon for GIS desktops,” said Patrick Wong, a founding principal of I.S.M. “Just as digital technology had advanced the mapping industry, web delivery of geo-referenced stereo-imagery with trouble-free usage will transform the GIS community.”

The partners will exhibit the first phase of available products at the ESRI Canada Regional User Conference in Toronto on October 12, 2006.

About Valtus Imaging Services:

Contact: Kenyon Waugh, kenyon.waugh@valtus.com

With Offices in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and Boulder, Colorado, Valtus' technology utilizes open GIS protocols to allow high-resolution ortho-rectified imagery to be viewed instantly through a wide range of industry standard web-mapping products and desktop applications. Valtus' services also allow users to search, view and download imagery instantly from their on-line store at www.valtusimagery.com .

The company serves a broad base of markets including land management, surveying, oil and gas, agriculture, forestry, community development, environmental management, real-estate, emergency response and all levels of government. In addition, Valtus holds the largest private data base of LiDAR data in western Canada, and through its partnerships with other geospatial content providers, facilitates the use of significant additional content to its customers.
