ESRI Canada and I.S.M. International Systemap Corp. Announce International Distribution Agreement for PurVIEW ™
Toronto, ON – ESRI Canada has signed an international distribution agreement with I.S.M. International Systemap Corp., and established a partnership to distribute PurVIEW worldwide. PurVIEW is a fully integrated stereoscopic image display and viewing extension for ArcGIS.
"This will allow us to establish a worldwide distributor network to provide customers with a remarkable extension for ArcGIS," said Alex Miller, President, ESRI Canada. "We have experienced a rapid adoption of PurVIEW in Canada and we believe we will see a very positive response to PurVIEW internationally."
Using the PurVIEW suite of products, geodatabase feature objects can be superimposed with terrain data to reveal natural changes in data or mapping errors and omissions. PurVIEW provides the capabilities to quickly transform the ArcGIS Desktop into a precise stereo-viewing environment enabling 3D visualization and data capture. The ability to view 3D stereoscopic data using PurVIEW provides a source for new datasets and a valuable resource that quickly reveals data inaccuracies. PurVIEW interacts directly with the geodatabase, digital elevation models, and georeferenced imagery data, eliminating the need for an external imaging engine or photogrammetric interface.
"PurVIEW was refined from our CAD-based product first released in 1998 and encapsulates the latest concepts in digital imaging and mapping technology," says Patrick Wong, founding principal, I.S.M. International Systemap Corp. "It was introduced in 2005 at the ESRI Business Partner Conference and is now market-proven as an effective geodatabase-direct mapping solution. This new agreement with ESRI Canada will accelerate the adoption of PurVIEW as the base-mapping or thematic feature self-mapping environment of choice around the world."
This innovative photogrammetric solution was developed by I.S.M. International Systemap Corp. and is valuable for organizations that need to view and edit feature data in stereo. The PurVIEW suite of products simplifies the process of feature extraction and reduces the cost of editing data in stereo. Just as digital technology had advanced the mapping industry, web delivery of georeferenced stereo-imagery with trouble-free usage will transform the GIS community.
